Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, Tierra Del Sol, along with many high schools throughout the nation, were faced with the challenges caused by Covid-19 of which included a majority of students attending class via distance learning. Despite the difficulties, TDS strengthened and deepened their AZTEC systems of support in order to help students become #AZTECSTRONG. Furthermore, as a result of distance learning, TDS could not complete a formal TFI and instead, we participated in an Implementation Guidance Assessment (IGA) that provided further direction for our AZTEC MTSS system of support. The visiting team of TOSAs (Teachers On Special Assignment) that specialize in social and emotional learning were impressed with the depth and scope of AZTEC expectations. The comment was made, "Definite commitment to student needs and utilize team strengths to meet needs! Great job including parents successfully! Excellent use of Canvas to push out expectations to all stakeholders. Great job including relevant initiatives to meet student need and incorporating your TOSA”!
